AV2 first flew on 26 May 1999 and attended the Kosice Balloon Meet the following month. It carried artwork for a Slovakian company, Reprox Kosice, which produces heat insulating materials.

The Kubiček AV2 has a volume of 100,000 cu ft and an envelope length of 125 ft. Power comes from a Rotax 503 UL-1V, giving a max speed of around 20 km/h or 11 knots. The car or gondola is a traditional welded latticework with a composite covering riveted to the frame. It is equipped with nose-wheel undercarriage. The fuel tank for the motors is located underneath the middle seat. The basic flight arrangement is as follows: 3 persons and 3 gas cylinders supplying the Kubiček H3 double burners. In many respects the gondola configuration resembles the design for the Cameron DP series
